Virtuoso-Affiliated · Lodging Only
The part of Virtuoso you want is the hotel part. It is the only part we do.
Same rate as booking direct, with consortia and preferred-program perks layered on. Lodging is the only thing we work on, so the hotel is not the afterthought at the end of someone's itinerary.

Virtuoso is a hotel program before it is anything else.
Most people searching for a Virtuoso agent are looking for a full-service planner. If that is you, and you need flights, guides, and a fourteen-country itinerary, we are not your shop and we will tell you so in the first reply. What we are is the opposite bet: everything we know is pointed at where you sleep.

Virtuoso is a hotel program first
The benefits people want from Virtuoso live at the hotel: the upgrade at check-in, breakfast for two, a property credit, early arrival and late departure, a welcome amenity, and a name on the arrivals list. Those come from the hotel relationship, not from an itinerary document.

Most advisors book the hotel last
A full-service advisor is juggling flights, transfers, guides, restaurants, and insurance. The hotel is one line on a long build sheet, usually decided late, usually booked through whichever channel is fastest that day. We start with the hotel because it is the only thing we do.

Virtuoso is one channel, not the only one
On any given stay, Virtuoso may be the best offer, or a brand preferred program may beat it, or a card program, or a private rate, or the hotel direct with its own promotion. We shop all of them against your specific dates and room type, then tell you where we booked and why.

Depth is the whole point
We have stayed in, toured, or worked the properties we recommend, and we keep notes. That is the difference between someone who can get you Virtuoso perks and someone who can tell you which of two Virtuoso hotels in the same town is the right one for your trip.
The benefits, without the hand-waving.
This is the standard shape of consortia and preferred-program benefits at participating hotels. The specifics differ property to property, so we send you the exact terms for your hotel before you book rather than a generic list.
Room upgrade at check-in
Subject to availability the day you arrive. We flag it in advance with the property and follow up the morning of arrival, which is where most of the movement happens.
Daily breakfast for two
Usually a full breakfast, sometimes a fixed credit toward it. Terms vary by property, so we send the exact wording for your hotel before you book.
Property credit
Commonly around $100 USD or the local equivalent, usable on spa, dining, or other on-property spend depending on the hotel.
Early check-in and late checkout
When available. On a tight arrival we will ask the property to hold a room from the night before rather than hope at the desk.
Welcome amenity
The property chooses it. Sometimes it is a bottle, sometimes it is a note and a plate of something. Occasions get flagged ahead of time.
A name on the arrivals list
The quiet one that matters most. You arrive as a guest the hotel was told about, from an advisor they want more bookings from.
Upgrades, early check-in, and late checkout are always subject to availability on the day. Nobody can promise them, and we do not.
Any good advisor does these. Here is what changes when the hotel is the entire job.
Perks you cannot book on your own
Any good advisor
Books through the one or two programs their agency defaults to, and the perks that come with them.
Because we only do lodging
There are dozens of programs. We know which one stacks the most on your specific hotel, dates, and room category, and we check them against each other every time.
Choosing the hotel in the first place
Any good advisor
Has been to some places and can give you an informed opinion.
Because we only do lodging
This is the whole job. Dozens of property visits a year, notes on room lines and buildings, a peer network for everywhere we have not been, and client feedback that keeps it current.
A briefing before you arrive
Any good advisor
Emails the hotel with your preferences and any occasions.
Because we only do lodging
The person reading it knows who is writing. Our volume is concentrated in hotels rather than spread across flights and tours, so the relationships are deeper at fewer places.
Your rate after you book
Any good advisor
Rarely watched, and usually only when an automated alert can be set on their own booking engine.
Because we only do lodging
We watch it manually no matter which channel we booked. Drop of $100 or more and we rebook you at the lower rate without you asking.
Someone to reach when it goes sideways
Any good advisor
A human instead of a call center.
Because we only do lodging
The same two people who booked it, and hotel contacts who can move a room rather than a supplier rep who can only file a request.
What we do not do
Any good advisor
Flights, tours, insurance, restaurants, everything.
Because we only do lodging
We do not book flights, tours, or insurance. We make a warm introduction to the hotel concierge and we will help arrange ground transfers, but your hotel is the center of the trip and the only thing we charge nothing to do better than anyone else.
We'll compare against Amex FHR and Chase Edit for you.
We love figuring out how to beat the big guys. On rare occasions we just can't, and we'll tell you so.

We obsess over where you stay.
Ryan worked a hotel front desk through college, then saw how the machine works from the inside at Wynn Resorts, Expedia, and TripAdvisor. Renae spent years running a luxury advisory for clients who needed things to go right, and someone to call when they did not. Between us we have lived in seven countries, stayed in more hotels than we can honestly count, and treat scouting properties like a family sport.
Renae is a Virtuoso advisor with a decade of luxury lodging bookings behind her and a public advisor profile where clients leave verified reviews. She holds Virtuoso access alongside brand preferred programs and other consortia, which is what lets us compare them rather than defend one.
We've walked these properties ourselves.
Some we slept in. Others we toured or spent enough time at to form a real opinion. If a hotel is on this list, we have a view on it we are willing to defend.

Virtuoso is one of several. We also work through brand preferred programs like Four Seasons Preferred Partner, Rosewood Elite, and Belmond Bellini Club, among others. Which one wins depends on the hotel and the dates.

Know where you're going? Book it yourself.
Browse advisor-exclusive inventory with our perks already attached, and text a real person when the rate codes stop making sense. Ping us before you book anyway. Roughly one in three times we find something better off-portal.

Stay somewhere worth writing about.
Our correspondents file first-person notes from the properties they stay in, which is where a good part of our opinion comes from. Read the dispatches, or write one.
Hotels pay us. Not you.
Hotels pay us a commission built into the rate. We want this to be free for you, and it usually is. The math works when your stays average somewhere around $750 to $1,000+ a night over time. That might be a week at Four Seasons Cabo in March and two nights at a Hyatt Place in Cleveland the next month. Totally fine. What we care about more: that the stay matters to you, you're reasonable to work with, and a good guest for the hotels we send you to (a red wine spill on a white sofa won't get you exiled. We're talking about the other stuff). As our hotel partners see the pattern of us sending good people their way, they welcome you accordingly.
