About us.
We're Ryan and Renae. Two people who have spent their careers in hotels, Ryan on the industry side (front desk, Wynn Resorts, TripAdvisor, Expedia), Renae running a luxury travel agency for 7 years. Between us we have lived in 7 countries and slept in more hotels than we can honestly count.
We are the people who plan the boat transfers, ask about generator backup during hurricane season, and check whether the villa you are looking at has direct sand access or sits up the hill. Oil Nut Bay is a property where the logistics matter as much as the brochure.

Oil Nut Bay is not a hotel in the traditional sense. It is a private resort community with rentable villas, a marina, and shared amenities. The geography and the property are effectively the same thing.
Oil Nut Bay Resort & Marina
A 400-acre private community on the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda.
Oil Nut Bay occupies 400 acres on the eastern tip of Virgin Gorda, a peninsula reachable only by boat or helicopter. It is a hybrid: part private residence community, part full-service resort. Accommodations are villas and estates ranging from 1 to 8 bedrooms, mostly owner-built, all rentable through the resort program. The beach club, marina, two restaurants, spa, and tennis facility are shared. The aesthetic is contemporary Caribbean rather than colonial, clean architecture, infinity pools, dramatic granite-boulder coastline reminiscent of nearby Devil's Bay and The Baths. The marina is one of the better-equipped in the BVI and a regular stop for the superyacht set, which sets the tone. Best for travelers who want resort amenities without resort density, multi-gen groups, or anyone who specifically wants a private villa with hotel service behind it.

The Beach Club
The social heart of the resort, pool, beach, casual restaurant, kids' splash zone. Where most days start and end.
Nova at The Point
The fine-dining restaurant, dramatically sited at the eastern tip of the peninsula. Sunset reservations are worth the planning.
Marina & charter access
The marina handles superyachts and is the launch point for day-charters to The Baths, Anegada, Jost Van Dyke, and the rest of the BVI sailing playground.
Helipad
Direct helicopter transfers from St. Thomas (USVI) or Tortola cut the connection time meaningfully. Worth pricing for shorter stays.
Hilltop villas with private pools
The villa categories vary widely. Hilltop villas have the views and the privacy; beachfront villas have direct sand access. We will help you sort which fits your group.
Boat to Anegada
Anegada is a different island and a different world, flat, low-density, lobster shacks on the beach. A great half-day or overnight escape.
Couples, families, and multi-gen groups who want a private-villa experience with full hotel amenities. Sailors and yacht owners using the marina. Anyone who wants to be in the BVI without staying on a more developed stretch.
Solo travelers or couples on a short trip who want walkable hotel-style density. Anyone who doesn't want to deal with a boat or helicopter transfer.

Rosewood Little Dix Bay
The grande dame of Virgin Gorda, fully reimagined
Rosewood Little Dix Bay sits on Virgin Gorda's western side, on a half-mile crescent beach Laurance Rockefeller chose in the 1960s. Rosewood took it over and completed a top-to-bottom renovation. It's a more traditional resort experience than Oil Nut Bay, beachfront rooms and cottages, a proper kids' program, walkable scale, and Rosewood Elite perks via our partnership. Good for couples and families who want hotel rhythm rather than villa-rental rhythm.
Scrub Island Resort
Marriott Autograph private-island resort near Tortola
Scrub Island is a 230-acre private-island Autograph Collection property a short boat ride from Tortola, more accessible than Oil Nut Bay, with a marina, two beaches, a hilltop pool complex, and standard hotel rooms plus villas. A more affordable BVI option that still delivers the private-island arrival sequence. Good for travelers who want the BVI vibe at a more reasonable price point.
Peter Island Resort
Recently reopened private-island resort
Peter Island reopened in 2024 after a multi-year, post-Irma rebuild. The result is the largest privately-owned island in the BVI under a single-resort footprint, with five beaches, a serious dive operation, and a more classic resort layout than Oil Nut Bay's villa-community model. A good direct alternative if you want private-island arrival but prefer hotel rooms to standalone villas.
